Since early childhood, art was a way to express how I felt. My work––drawing, watercolor, ink, batik, print making, tin and wood collage––is as eclectic as the experiences of a life lived on four continents and two islands.
On Dolphin Beach, Vashon Island, I collected bits of metal and other items that washed up on the sand. Through a process of discovery and the evocation of the found pieces, collages emerged. Use of the written word on some enlarges and complements the vision. These expressions are from the collected beauty of gifts returned from garbage dumped into Puget Sound years ago.
