Unchartered Waters At Valise Gallery Opens in February.
Colors are bright and shapes are bold in this new body of work by Vashon Island artist Kristen Reitz-Green. While those are familiar elements in her paintings, with this exhibition, which opens Friday, February 3, she now takes an even more
intimate view of well known objects. The result of such close examination is a step into abstraction is a decidedly dynamic and fresh perspective for her collectors and admirers.
Reitz-Green attributes recent political results, and the emotions she felt surrounding the results, as the impetus which led her to paint the highly conceptual, simple forms. As it turned out, her, her deep dive into uncharted waters has produced a collection of thoughtful reflection, deep feeling and creative exuberance.
Uncharted Waters, curated by Eric Heffelfinger, opens with a reception for the artist at 6 p.m. on First Friday, February 3 at the Valise Gallery and runs through the month.
